The PrimeWhere uses a full diameter-based interchangeable collar system to center your cartridges perfectly over the indicator needle. This ensures repeatable high-confidence measurement of your primer pockets and seated primers. 

The collar encloses the circumference of the cartridge rim to ensure the entire base of the case will be in contact with the PrimeWhere body. This is critically important because your rifles bolt face will also see the entire base of your case. 
 
Competing tools measure outside the headstamp, not using the entire base of the case. This is a critical mistake, as the headstamp can create measurement error in both primer depth as well as headspace, and can create a compound variance if ignored. The rifle sees these variances and it's better to measure them and fix them, than pretend they don't exist. The entire base of the case MUST be included in our measurements to have any practical real-world effect.

Competitors tools have a restrictive design which limits cartridge compatibility. The PrimeWhere is compatible with nearly all centerfire cartridges. We offer 7 standard collars which encompass a huge number of popular cartridges, but also offer a custom collar service where we will manufacture the collar to your specified diameter. 

Unlike other tools, the PrimeWhere design allows the indicator needle tip to come in direct contact with the measuring surface. We do not rely on little “modules" between the measuring surface and the indicator needle. 

These additional parts increase drag and add tolerance stacking issues which can severely affect the ability to get precise measurements. There is no better method to ensure ultimate accuracy than direct contact.
